So, I get home from uni, go to pull the handbrake up and the button pops out. I pull the handbrake up anyway and immediately feel something wrong. It wasn't ratcheting like it should, and as a result when I let go it just dropped down again. I then spent about five minutes straight laughing my balls off and trying to get the button back in.
I'm not sure if the repair place is still open and can't find their number, so all I can do is wait for Dad to get home so I can tell him.
So, now I have a rally-car handbrake and can't park on a hill because leaving it Park probably won't be enough.
To all those prospective car buyers, consider this a warning: do NOT buy a 2004 model Kia Rio, used new or otherwise.
EDIT: Dad got home and made the necessary phone call that I wasn't bothered making. Will be bringing the shitheap in for service tomorrow morning, but it could be until
NEXT THURSDAY until they get it fixed. Of course, when Dad rang up he said that "the handbrake came off", possibly leading them to assume that the problem is a lot more dire than it is. I really hope it doesn't take them a whole week just to screw a button back into place...
I want a new car, one that preferably WON'T fall apart at regular intervals ;_;
EDITED EDIT: Fixed lol, I'll give it a couple days for it to break again. It'll be the gearbox next, or something retarded.
